Becoming More Beautiful

About six months ago, I started thinking about dating again. After having a spouse pass away a few years ago, I knew that it was time for me to get back out there, date, and have a great time. However, it was a really difficult transition for me, and I knew that it would be hard to get back into the dating pool. To make the process easier, I turned to a spa and salon in my area to see what they could do for me. They did my hair, gave my skin a nice buffing, and made my nails look picture perfect. Check out this blog for more information on becoming more beautiful.

The Busy Moms' Guide To Tummy Tuck Recovery

Fred Lambert

How well you take care of yourself during the recovery phase of your tummy tuck procedure is incredibly important. However, when you're a busy mom, caring for yourself sometimes sounds like an impossible goal. Before you have your procedure performed, learn about some of the things you can do now to prepare for your recovery.

Car Pool

A tummy tuck directly targets the muscles in the abdomen. To ensure proper healing, it's important to give these muscles time to recover. A big part of this process involves avoiding activities that can strain these muscles, including driving. Straining these muscles can affect the healing process and increase your level of discomfort. If you have children who are involved in after school activities, contact some of the other parents you trust and ask if your children can catch a ride with them until you're healed.

Meal Prep

Make an effort to make a few meals ahead that you can freeze and pull out the freezer later for quick preparation. Discomfort is common during the recovery phase. If you're uncomfortable and your partner can't prepare a meal each night, the last thing you want to do is eat fast food. Fast food is full of sodium. During the recovery period, it's common to experience swelling. Eating food with high sodium content will only make the swelling worse.

Laundry

You want to make sure you do laundry ahead of time. As previously stated, swelling is common. As a result, the body you have during recovery is not what you can expect after recovery, as you might find it harder to fit into your clothing. Go ahead and handle your laundry so that you have plenty of your favorite loose-fitting garments on hand, such as sweat or stretch pants. Keep in mind that you'll also need to wear a compression garment under your clothing, so the looser your clothing, the better.

Work Modifications

Let your employer know ahead of time if you need any modifications. During the recovery period, you should avoid standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in any other strenuous activities. If your job requires these types of actions, let your employer know ahead of time. They should be able to modify your work schedule and possibly even let you work from home temporarily.

Speak with your medical provider to learn about some of the additional measures you should take to prepare for recovery.
